Our Commitment
As a public institution the University of Washington is committed to open and fair business practices and encourages participation by all interested and qualified parties when contracting for goods and services.
The University, as a federal contractor and in accordance with State of Washington law, has a policy to provide maximum practicable opportunities in its acquisitions to small business, 8(a) participants, and other small business socioeconomic categories (i.e. veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns).
Guided by the Board of Regents' Statement of Business Equity, Procurement Services actively engages with businesses, large and small, to promote opportunities, strengthen Washington's economy, and broaden the University's supplier pool. Our efforts are aimed at enhancing competition, improving quality, and supporting cost-effective outcomes while actively involving small businesses in UW businesses opportunities. Our contracting team is dedicated to helping UW departments meet state, federal, and institutional requirements while ensuring fair and open access to the business community.
